The Stillwater Area Community Center is proud to announce the addition of First Lego League Junior this fall. First Lego League is a STEM program for elementary and middle school students designed to foster creativity, problem solving, team work, beginning robotics, and more! This is a brand new endeavor for our community, and being a community program for the Stillwater, Mechanicville, Schaghticoke, and surrounding areas will make it truly unique in the First Lego League organization.
The First Lego League program can help our children aspire to be great team members capable of collaboration and thinking outside the box, while also providing a solid foundation for STEM education. Each year the team will work together to creatively solve a problem or challenge by building and programming a vehicle they make using motors, sensors, and Legos. There are competitions throughout the year where the teams present their project.
The Stillwater Area Community Center is ready to help us reach not just one school, but many schools across multiple towns to make SACC’s First Lego League teams a truly meaningful community endeavor. We hope that you will share this new program with your elementary school students, science and technology teachers, and parent-teacher organizations. We would love to have a thriving First Lego League Junior program at the Stillwater Area Community Center in Fall 2017 for children in grades K-3 (ages 6-10)!
