- Transportation to medical treatments and doctor appointments
- Transportation for local errands
The Elder Care Program makes sure that Stillwater area seniors have the transportation they need to get to their medical appointments, and to run their errands.
The program serves seniors age 60 and older who are not on Medicaid, and who live in the Town or Village of Stillwater, and the City of Mechanicville.
Transportation is provided to medical facilities that are within 25 miles of Stillwater, including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga, and Clifton Park. The program uses a wheel chair accessible van.
Operating hours are 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday thru Friday. The latest medical appointment for which transportation can be provided is 2:00 P.M. (If your appointment is at 2:30 P.M., we can not transport you.) Transportation from a medical facility can be scheduled until 4:00 P.M.
There is no transportation on most federal holidays, or if driving conditions are hazardous.
For seniors living in the Town or Village of Stillwater, transportation to go shopping locally is available as time allows.
The Elder Care program is supported by the Town of Stillwater, the City of Mechanicville, and the Saratoga County office for the Aging, and through the generous donations of our clients.
